Henry Brown has voted against measures to help seniors and poor children get better health care. The chart below outlines Henry Brown's health care record:

2000: Brown opposed a state prescription drug program for seniors.

Just last year, Brown voted against a plan to provide $10 million in funding for a state-based prescription drug plan for seniors. Gov. Jim Hodges on Sept. 27 unveiled the Silver Card program – the plan Brown essentially voted against on March 15 – to provide help to seniors for the rising costs of prescription drugs.

1993: Henry Brown opposed a plan to provide prescription drugs for poor seniors and children.

In 1993, Brown voted against an amendment that would have introduced a slight increase in cigarette taxes to provide funds for the Medicaid Pharmaceutical Program. The proposal would have provided funding to address prescription drug needs for poor children and poor seniors.

1998: Henry Brown voted against the Children's Emergency Medical Services Act.

In 1998, the General Assembly considered the Children's Emergency Medical Services Act, a bill to support measures to help critically ill children. It included provisions for injury prevention and public education activities. Brown voted to continue the bill into the next legislative session, which effectively voted to kill it in the 1998 session.

1995: Henry Brown opposed measures to support child health care for people moving from welfare to work.

In 1995, Brown voted against an amendment to a Welfare Reform Bill which would have given medical help to poor children. The amendment would have allowed for transitional Medicaid and childcare help for former AFDC recipients who move off welfare and back into work.

1997: Henry Brown opposed using drunk driving fines to help families supporting those with head and spinal cord injuries.

In 1997, Brown voted against an amendment to the General Appropriations Bill that would have allowed $10 from every fine collected for drunken driving to be used to help the Head and Spinal Cord Injuries Special Family Support Program.
